Campaign for Guaranteed Health Care:

The Maryland for Guaranteed Healthcare campaign is hosting our second series of healthcare canvasses on Saturday, July 15th and Sunday, July 16th! 
We will be launching three canvasses from:

Saturday, July 15th Salisbury canvass: Pemberton Little League Ballpark Salisbury, MD

Sunday, July 16th Frederick canvass: Ballenger Creek Park near the dog park at 11 a.m. 5420 Ballenger Creek Pike, Frederick, MD 21703

Sunday, July 16th Odenton canvass: Odenton Elementary School starting at 11 a.m. 1290 Odenton Rd, Odenton, MD 21113

 Deep Canvassing

In towns and neighborhoods across the country, we hold conversations with voters about the issues of the day and the world we’re fighting to build. We train volunteers to knock on the doors of neighbors and transform their communities into a force at the polls. We ask candidates tough questions and secure policy commitments.  Issue Groups

Our chapter has identified seven key issues of concern in our county: criminal justice, economic matters, education, fair elections, health care, immigration rights & protection and transportation.  Email the issue leads below to join a group.

 County Council

We are looking for a point person for each County Council District. This team will mobilize when needed to advocate with their councilperson on a progressive issue, or to support new candidates for the office. If you are interested in this, please reach out to Diane Teichert, County Council Lead revdteichert@gmail.com.

Wednesday July 19 5:30 p.m.-7 Fair Elections Celebration – we have a limited public financing system to take the big money out of HoCo elections, thanks to the County Council’s action to codify the will of the voters expressed in 2016. June 29, 2017  DC rally hears impact on Maryland of GOP health care bills from Progressive Maryland organizer

Progressive Maryland health care organizer Beth Landry brought to a rally on Capitol Hill the devastating effect of GOP health care plans on the state's patients and their caregivers -- all for a huge tax cut giveaway to the rich. In her speech June 28 she sums up "This bill is literally a death sentence."
