We are filled with gratitude for your support of Progressive Maryland and the work we are doing to build power for working families.

As we get closer to the end of another year, we want to pause to express our thankfulness to you. We have been able to accomplish so much this year with your continuous support.

Thanks to your action during this year’s legislative session, submitting testimony in support of our priority bills and sending our legislators hundreds of emails urging them to vote in favor of working families, we were able to move the needle on crucial climate legislation protecting frontline communities and stronger healthcare policies providing access to paid family and medical leave. Just these two major steps alone will change the lives of thousands of Marylanders for the better. We couldn’t have made this impact without you.

We also just wrapped up a very successful election season. After endorsing 58 progressive candidates around the state, we were able to secure 47 wins in this Gubernatorial Election. We are overjoyed to be celebrating an 81% win rate, and with these sweeping victories, we are hopeful about this new era in Maryland politics. We were also able to pass a ballot measure for cannabis legalization, a big step in ending the racist war on drugs. Most importantly, with your help, we were able to reach hundreds of thousands of voters during our electioneering and have meaningful conversations with folks about the importance of this election. With new statewide leadership in office thanks to your help, we are looking forward to what should be a very productive 2023 legislative session to make even greater progress.

We would be remiss if we didn’t acknowledge the history of this day in this message of gratitude. Here at PM, we honor Indigenous people year round but, on this day during Native American Heritage Month especially, we feel it’s important to honor the legacy - past, present and future - of Indigenous Marylanders. When we say we are working towards a more just and equitable future for all Marylanders, that certainly includes our Indigenous communities.

Thank you for choosing to be a part of this organization and engaging in building a stronger coalition of progressive unity throughout the state. We appreciate you deeply, Friend.

We are wishing you a wonderful weekend filled with comfort, community and good food.

Warmest regards,

The Progressive Maryland Team
