Maryland lawmakers took an important step to help working families statewide get a higher minimum wage by passing a $15 minimum wage bill.
The measure raises wages for hundreds of thousands of workers across our state and helps create economic justice for Marylanders. Your advocacy and support helped us reach this milestone.
But our work isn't done.
Governor Larry Hogan has just vetoed the bill. Thankfully, our advocacy ensured the bill passed with enough votes to override Hogan's veto.
Sign here to urge your legislators to continue their support of Maryland's working families and make the $15 minimum wage a reality.92 signatures
Governor Larry Hogan has vetoed the $15 minimum wage, so we need you to stand up and reject it by voting to override it.
Maryland working families have waited too long for a wage that helps all of us take care of our basic needs. We need a $15 minimum wage and its time is NOW.
Progressive Maryland is calling for Harford County Delegate Mary Ann Lisanti to resign or be expelled following both an allegation of racist speech and her tone deaf statements after the revelation of the original incident.
Lisanti has lost her ability to credibly represent the people of her district and make policy for all Marylanders. Anyone who disrespects African Americans -- as she clearly does -- has no business serving in the Maryland General Assembly.
Issues pending before the Maryland General Assembly have serious implications for people of color. Based on her comments, Lisanti shouldn’t vote on these measures.137 signaturesAdd signature
18 signaturesMoveOn.org has organized a protest at the Democratic Central Committee. They used a misleading OFFICIAL DEMOCRATIC BALLOT to advertise the candidates that the Democratic Central Committee wanted. The voters of Prince Georges County got swindled and we did not get Victor Ramirez, Krystal Oriadha, Tony Knotts, and others to represent us.We have to let them know this can NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN.
