Progressive Prince George's brings together residents and activists from all over the county to collaborate for a better quality of life for all Prince Georgians. As a member-driven, community-based organization, we provide access to training and tools to empower all of our members to take on the issues they care about in their neighborhoods.
Progressive Prince George's members take on a variety of issues. Our current campaigns and volunteer led issue areas include:
Education
Economic Development
Criminal Justice Reform
Environmental Justice
Immigrant Rights and Protection
Transportation
Fair Elections - On all levels of government there is a a feeling that our elected officials are not solely accountable to the people who voted them into office. Our elected representatives are also accountable to wealthy donors and special interests that fund their campaigns. Progressive Prince George's is working to ensure everyday people have a bigger voice in our elections. We are urging the county council to introduce, support, and pass legislation that will create a small donor matching program. It will give candidates an opportunity to reject big donor, special interest money and amplify the voice of everyday residents through a tiered donation matching system.

Organizing Co-Op - Progressive Maryland launched a 75-day campaign to get 200 or more residents to pledge $20-30 per month to hire a full-time organizer. Residents will form a steering committee and decide which issues they want to work on. The organizer will work diligently to train and develop leaders within the county and organize people around the co-op’s core issues to make a greater impact in Prince George’s.
