On Tuesday, February 16th the Howard County Council will hold public hearings on Resolution 27 – the foundation for Citizen Funded Campaigns in Howard County.
Citizen Funded Campaigns work because they shift the focus of campaigns away from big dollar, wealthy donors and back to everyday people. Howard County’s program would operate by providing matching funds to qualifying candidates who agree to only accept donations from small donors who live in the County. This program allows for more diverse candidates to run for office, increases participation in the process, and results in a more substantive legislative debate free from the influence of big money.
Please come to show your support for this initiative in Howard County.
