It’s here! Voters are voting by mail, heading to early voting sites July 7-14, or making their plans to vote on Election Day, next Tuesday, July 19th. Sample ballots contain information about early voting and Election Day locations. If you requested a ballot please complete and mail by next Monday or drop at a secure drop box in your jurisdiction.

If you’re still reviewing the candidates and weighing your choices, check out our full list of endorsed candidates.

We’d love to see a strong turnout and great victories for all the dedicated progressives who are running up and down the ballot. Please help us achieve these outcomes! Your vote makes a difference!

Volunteers can make a difference, too, especially in this final week and on Election Day. Join us at a phone bank, at an early voting site to distribute literature, or for a text bank or a canvassing shift. Our volunteers are having really good conversations with voters. Help us increase our voter engagement in these final 8 days!

Quick Actions:

Vote!  Here are the to help you decide:

  • Mail In Option: Request a ballot now (up until TOMORROW,  July 12) Click here to learn how you can request a mail-in ballot.
  • Voting by mail? Once you receive it, review your ballot, and fill out the ballot in full. Follow the instructions for mailing or dropping at a Ballot drop box location.
  • Early Voting: Now – Thursday, July 14 Check the local Board of Elections website for voting locations and hours.
  • Tuesday, July 19: Primary Election Day Check your local Board of Elections website for polling locations and hours.

No matter which method you use, be sure to make a plan: mark your calendar and set aside the time you need to cast your vote from home or at a polling place. Questions or problems? Call the Election Protection Hotline at 1-866-687-8683.

Volunteer!  We are so grateful to our team of awesome volunteers! There’s still time to join them! You can get some steps in with our door knocking team, or make calls or send texts from home, or help us at Early Voting sites where we remind voters of the progressive candidate/s on the ballot. Sign up today! Contact Yves for more information.

PM Endorsed Candidate Corner

Let us know if you want to help us elect our slate of progressives.  We have needs and opportunities in Prince George’s County, Montgomery County, Baltimore County, and Baltimore. We’re supporting County Council candidates and candidates for the Maryland General Assembly in these jurisdictions. Contact Yves or Devane for more information. You can learn more, too, from our posts and individual candidate websites and social media pages.

Montgomery County Alert for Voters: Beware the group calling itself “Progressives for Progress” that popped up in the last 90 days and is flooding our mailboxes with their slick mailers. There is nothing progressive about them! This group got put together with  contributions from dozens of development companies and other real estate entities or individuals that have dealings with them. They want to advance their interests, not the interests and needs of everyday MoCo residents. This is their attempt to gain a powerful grip on our local government, especially the office of County Executive (they are backing businessman David Blair.) Many of these wealthy donors, especially the founder of this PAC, contribute big bucks to the Republican party! They hope their name will confuse voters so help spread the word about who they really are.

Harford County: Progressive Harford County is phone banking every evening this week from 6-8 p.m. to reach as many potential voters as possible. The turnout so far during early voting has been light thus far, so it's all hands on deck to make sure that we show up at the polls for our endorsed candidates. Sign up here to phone bank!

Task Forces & Campaign Updates:

We’re on the campaign trail from now until July 19. We’ll share information, updates, and calls to action on our healthcare campaign, drug policy work, and other issues in our July 26th Weekly Memo. Until then, join our elections team to help with voter outreach.

State and National News:

Somebody's GOP-compulsive idea of a lean, mean state government left us nearly defenseless when real crises came along. Meet the crisis's chief enabler, the Guv.

And shake your head about the way dark and not-so-dark money is distorting some of our most competitive Maryland races.

What’s the terrain of struggle for reproductive rights, an effective Maryland government, fair elections and other federal-state issues? Find it all in this week’s News you can Use blog post.

Progressive Maryland BlogSpace:

We value creating space for our members to express their thoughts on any issues related to our campaigns. Have an idea for a blog post? You can submit writing, film, graphic design, etc. to be published on our website to us at [email protected].
