Celebrate With Us This Saturday at the No Cash For Trash Victory Party!

The party is almost here! Join us this Saturday, July 26 from 1–4 PM at Port Covington Marina in Baltimore for a celebration of a major win — ending subsidies for trash incineration in Maryland.

This is a victory for all of us: for clean air and environmental justice. We’re throwing this party to honor the community leaders and advocates who made it happen, and we want everyone to come out and celebrate.

We’ll have delicious food from Buck N Grill, sweet treats from Kona Ice, music, and all the good vibes. Don’t miss it!

Day of Action This Saturday

Around the country this Saturday, people will be turning out to rally, do community education, and petitioning to protest the terrible federal budget that passed. Our focus is the devastating cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, and the Affordable Care Act. We’re teaming up with People’s Action and Families First on these events. If you’re in or near Bel Air, we’re getting together at 9:30 a.m. for a community canvass.

Shout out to our Healthcare Task Force, our Harford County chapter, and volunteers for organizing the Bel Air event! We’re excited that one of our members is speaking at the D.C. event to share how he’ll be negatively affected by the Medicaid cuts and policy changes. Thanks, Danny and Leslie!

Harford County

Join Progressive Harford County for a community canvass in Bel Air this Saturday, July 26. We will meet in front of the District Court House, on the plaza (next to the Farmer's Market), petitioning and flyering about the Big Bad Deadly Budget Bill that passed in July. We're holding Members of Congress like Andy Harris accountable for voting yes to cutting and gutting health care services and funding. Materials and instructions will also be provided. Dress comfortably and for the weather.

News You Can Use: It's the Alamo for offshore wind, other renewables in Trumpworld

Maryland is having to defend its permit for offshore wind development, having kinda let it slide for some years thanks to the good businesspersons of O.C. Now Trump's puppet feds are after them, along with anyone else nationwide who is trying to shift from fossil-fuel dependency. Not a good look. Another bad look: Trump's puppet House committees crashed housing availability to the tune of 400,000 fewer available Section 8 vouchers for low-income renters, making homelessness much more common and throwing big burdens on the states and cities -- that's becoming a clear trend for the Trump forces. And Trump wants to see the NFL Commanders change their name back to that racist original or he's promised to intervene in D.C.'s elaborate stadium deal. Maybe Gov. Moore will get to keep the team in Maryland after all. We can imagine how many people will be happy about that.
