I have agreed to host a fundraiser for Progressive Maryland, an organization that I strongly admire and support. On May 29th at 7pm, I will be hosting a fundraiser for Progressive Maryland at my home at 616 Swan Creek Rd Fort Washington, MD 

I support Progressive Maryland because they are dedicated to building power for working families in Maryland. Progressive Maryland is not only dedicated to this goal but has a track record of success fighting for poor and working class Marylanders such as:

Helping to Save Prince George’s Hospital
Educated and mobilized thousands of residents to pressure the county government to accept the state’s offer to keep open a hospital system that serves 180,000 patients every year and hosts the state’s second largest trauma center.

Rest Breaks for Retail Employees
PM strongly supported a bill to ensure that workers in retail establishments who work four straight hours get at least a 15 minute rest break and workers who work six straight hours get a 30 minute rest break.

Reducing Workplace Fraud
Fought to enact law cracking down on the increasing number of employers who fraudulently misclassify workers as “independent contractors”, which will restore workplace safety rules for thousands of workers and recoup millions of dollars for the state in payroll taxes
