MoCo Needs $15
The Montgomery County Council is considering a bill that would raise the county minimum wage to $15/hour by 2020. Help ensure it's a strong bill that protects all workers–no exceptions, no exemptions.Â
Montgomery County is one of the most expensive regions of the country and many workers are being priced out with women and people of color being hardest hit by low wages. Montgomery County should be a place where everyone can afford to live and thrive.

I support a national minimum wage of $15 an hour for ALL workers NOW. I’ve been paying my workers over $15 an hour for over three years now so I know a small business can do it and survive.

I made just above the minimum wage as a bath appliance salesman. Including the poor commission, it was barely enough to pay my rent, student loans, grocery bill and leave some left over for savings. I was left asking family, who are in no better a financial situation, for supplemental assistance. I don’t wish such an existence on my worst enemy. It is truly damaging to one’s sense of dignity

People working 40+ hours a week should not struggle putting food on the table, and providing for their families. We need to raise the minimum wage, and bring the hard-working, well-deserving, waitress and waiters along for the ride.
